Audio from road trip to Gatlinburg

A few years ago, I remember a QSO with a friend of mine, who will remain nameless (But his call sign is KT4LS), that a repeater in Gatlinburg, Tennessee had a few “interesting” repeater announcements.  In fact, my friend did, what I thought to be, a pretty good interpretation of a “sexy” announcement that I wish I had recorded for our own local repeater.  (I am sure he would have really appreciated that!)  Well that’s all it took to get my attention.  I knew that the next time I was in the Gatlinburg area, I HAD to monitor as much as I could.  I recently purchased the icom ID 5100 that has a very convenient audio recording feature built right in.  So, even with the volume turned down around the YL, I could still record all of the audio while we were traveling.  Although I never came across the sound byte that I was hoping for, I did find some very interesting announcements.  May I present to you the audio from the W4KEV Repeater!  BTW… if you are ever in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge/Sevierville area, it’s 147.195 (+) PL 100.

As far as I can tell, all sound bytes are FCC compliant… But a few may be a little risqué!  Enjoy!

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
